I first met the Mabrys back in October 2012 during my annual fall mini-sessions, when they were still weeks away from expecting their beautiful daughter and looking to have some maternity portraits done. And then that itty bitty baby decided to surprise us all by arriving just four days later! To say that I’ve known that sweet girl with those amazing blue eyes since before she was born might be a technicality, but it’s true and I’m so very lucky.
Having watched their daughter grow over the course of her first year as part of my itty bitty baby plan was bittersweet. I always shed a tear when I work on those 12-month sessions and reflect back on their newborn sessions…to see them graduate the baby plan is such a joy, while a tad bit sad to know I’ll no longer be seeing these families every few months. I tend to grow attached.
But when I got the call that we needed to schedule a spring session with some big news, I couldn’t have been happier to see these folks again! Right at the peak of the wildflowers field, I knew we had to head up to Laurel Hill.
Yep, their little family is growing!!! I am so excited for them!

Sadly (for me), they are moving before this new little bundle arrives in December. To be a part of both babies’ stories would have been such a pleasure! I’m sure going to miss their smiling faces, watching their sweet girl become a big sister, and our chats about wine.
